In the eyes of many, Ken Miles was the true winner of the 1966 24-hours of Le Mans. A Birmingham born racer, he was the lead test driver during the creation of the GT40 Mk2, and drove the #1 car during the 1966 race. Tragically killed during testing of the J-car (the Mk2's replacement), he is widely regarded as a hero of motorsport.
Presented in A3 landscape format (420mm x 297mm), this piece was hand-drawn and coloured digitally. It shows a front-facing, overhead view of Ken Miles' iconic blue and red GT40.
Printed on a high-grade, museum-quality substrate made from blended bamboo and cotton. Bamboo is a natural, sustainable and environmentally friendly white paper made from 90% bamboo fibres and 10% cotton, resulting in warm-tones without optical brighteners.
The paper is acid and Lignin-free, which meets the requirements of an age resistant paper and is printed on pre-cut sheets using an inkjet, 12 colour Giclée print process, providing in-depth reproduction of colours and fine details.
For shipping, it is carefully wrapped in acid-free tissue paper and packaged in a hardback paper envelope. All of the packaging used is plastic free, too!
